And I asked her for some happy news
But she just frowned and turned away
I went down to the party store
Where I'd bought Twinkies years before
But the man there said there’s no snacks
today
And in the streets the children screamed
The lovers cried, and ate whip cream
But not a word was spoken
The ovens all were broken
And the three treats I admire most-
Snowballs, Cupcakes and Ho Hos -
They caught the last train for the coast
The day that junk food died
